Slovenia is a tiny country in the middle of Europe marked in RED.
It only has 2 million people.
Slovenia borders to Italy, Austria, Hungary and Croatia,
and its size is about 20,000 square kms (7,800 square miles).
I'll start with Kamnik because it's my hometown. :)
Kamnik has about 13,000 inhabitants.
Kamnik became a town in the 13th century and has a number of castles and churches.
Main street and square in Kamnik.
The old part of Kamnik is nestled between hills.
The former main street in Kamnik is now a pedestrian zone.
Views of Kamnik from a nearby hill.
Kamnik lies at the foot of the Kamnik Alps.
This is the view from the mountains towards Kamnik in the distance.
Looking toward the west from a hill above Kamnik one can see rolling hills and mountains in the background.
A shining road in Kamnik suburbs.
Mountains around Kamnik are my eternal source of inspiration...
...and so are the fields around Kamnik.
In May, clover fields are especially picturesque.
I return to the same spot near Kamnik with views of the Kamnik Alps many times.
This photo was taken in March...
...this one was taken in April...
...and this one was taken in May.
More fields, this time golden wheat fields before a storm.
In August fields are full of bales.
My favorite mountain close to Kamnik is called Velika planina (literally Big Pasture). It's a plateau with a shepherd settlement in the Kamnik Alps.
