Kamnik in ice and snow - Feb 4, 2014
The weather here has been crazy. First, we had an unusually warm winter without snow until late January. Then it started to snow excessively, some places in Slovenia have 1.5 meters of snow, and what is worse, snow turned to sleet and for the past 5 days glaze ice has been breaking trees and power poles all over the place. 25% of Slovenians have no power, and almost half of our forests have been devastated. People are advised to stay indoors. Kamnik hasn't been as affected as some other places in Slovenia, but it is sad to see the fallen trees and broken branches nevertheless.
