Around Kranjska Gora - Feb 20, 2016
This long and productive day started with shooting the sunrise at Lake Jasna. I then ran to the Kekec ski slope in Kranjska Gora as I noticed awesome orange cloud above it. After a quick stop at Zelenci, I was determined to climb to a clearing in the slope above Podkoren to get a great view of the entire valley and the mountains beyond. I left showshoes at home, so it was hard going as I sank into snow with each step. But the view was worth it!
I rushed to Ljubljana to pick up Australian photographer Rod Thomas, and I chose Mangart Lakes as our sunset destination. The sky didn't look like much, but it exploded in pink for 5 minutes creating a fantastic spectacle.
